1952 - 1963

Anthony Patton and his wife had to overcome many obstacles in setting up the school but numbers reached nearly 200 in just four years. To the original building in Fitzjohn’s Avenue, was quickly added a second in Arkwright Road. Anthony fell ill in the early 1960s and his son Tim returned from a teaching exchange in New York to take over the school shortly before his father’s death in 1963.
